The short answerOur internal testing showed a 99%+ match with Turnitin AI detection results. You can use our checker to preview possible AI flags early, review your draft, and make careful revisions before submission.

The score is most useful as an early warning. It shows whether your writing contains patterns that may look AI-generated. It also gives you time to review the paper before your instructor sees the final version.

What does the 99%+ match mean?

We compared results from our checker with Turnitin AI detection results during internal testing. The results matched at a rate above 99% in those comparisons.

This means TurnDetector can provide a close preview of how a draft may appear to Turnitin AI detection. It does not mean every percentage will always be exactly the same. AI detection models change, and different text can produce different results.

Important: TurnDetector provides Turnitin-Style AI Analysis. It does not access Turnitin's private software or databases, and it does not create an official Turnitin report.

How to use the score before submission

1. Check the full draftPaste the paper into the checker so the score reflects the complete writing context.
2. Review suspicious writingLook closely at generic, repetitive, or unusually polished sections.
3. Revise with purposeAdd your own reasoning, examples, evidence, and accurate citations.

Do not rewrite good original work only to chase a lower number. A detector score is a review signal. Your sources, drafts, revision history, and understanding of the topic still matter.

Why can individual results differ?

Even with a strong internal match, two checks may not always return the same percentage. Common reasons include:

  • Turnitin or TurnDetector updates its detection model.
  • The paper is edited between checks.
  • The text is too short or contains many lists, tables, citations, or code blocks.
  • Different systems use different thresholds and qualifying-text rules.
  • Mixed human and AI-assisted writing creates a less clear pattern.

For this reason, use the result as a close preview rather than a guaranteed final score.

What should you do with a high AI score?

Start by reviewing the sections that do not sound like your normal writing. Check every claim and source. Replace vague statements with specific evidence and explain the reasoning in your own words.

If the work is genuinely yours, keep your notes, outline, earlier drafts, and document history. These materials can show how your paper developed if an instructor asks questions.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an official Turnitin score?

No. TurnDetector is an independent tool that provides Turnitin-Style AI Analysis. It does not connect to Turnitin's private systems.

Will the score always match exactly?

No result is guaranteed to match every future scan exactly. Models, thresholds, and the submitted text can change.

Can a high score prove that AI wrote my paper?

No. A high score shows that the text contains AI-like writing patterns. It should lead to careful review, not an automatic conclusion about authorship.
